Providers of the Early Years Foundation Stage must refer to and comply with the paediatric first aid requirements contained within the Statutory Framework and the Practice Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage (DFE). This includes having at least one person, who has a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate, on the premises at all times when children are present and one person trained on all school outings. This course introduces first aid to candidates who have children and babies in their care and to enable them to recognise and respond to a paediatric emergency.
