Course Description

The Aspiring Leadership Team provides leadership training and inspiration for those existing leaders who aspire to be part of the school Leadership Team, or who have already been seconded to the Leadership Team for a limited period.  The programme aims to develop a greater understanding of current educational issues and their whole-school implications for senior leaders.


Outline:
- 5 twilight sessions led by Headteachers in their own schools, each focusing on an area of leadership.
- The final session to include a review of all learning with time to plan next steps.


Audience:
Middle leaders in secondary schools who have not completed GFL, but may have completed middle leader training through OTSA or in-house training.

Current head and other senior school leaders

Session 1 - People, Processes and Culture: an holistic view of leadership (Paul James, The Cherwell School)
Session 2 - Leadership in a complex environment: SEND and accountability for all (Simon Knight, Frank Wise School)
Session 3 - Title TBC (Wyll Willis, Wallingford School)
Session 4 - Title TBC (Fin Lewis, Brightwell Primary School)
Session 5 - Walking the Walk: Characteristics of effective leadership (Rick Holroyd, King Alfred's Academy)
